Grown with Waterwick
The growing system "Grown with Waterwick" is the new future for sustainable growing! It has many benefits for the entire market, including the grower, retail and consumer. So since 2018, Karma Plants has been fully committed to it. It is an economical and sustainable system in which the plant absorbs only the water it needs. With its own waterreservoir, no water is wasted.
In addition to the ease of watering, this system is now the solution for peat-free potted plants!
From the first moment
Sustainable cultivation
All plants of Karma Selections from pot size 9cm and up have been grown with a 'Waterwick'. This happens at the very first moment the plant is planted in the culture pot. This allows the plant to grow from the start with the knowledge that nutrition is coming through the Waterwick. Using the "Waterwick", contact is made with water. The water contains the right nutrients the plant needs to grow.
100% recycled irrigation water
All irrigation water is reused within the nursery. It is very important that the water is clean and stays clean, which is why the recent 2020 newly build construction has a sustainable filtration system. All the irrigation water first passes over a sieve bend where all the dirt above 25 millimeters is removed from the water. The water then runs through a special self-cleaning drum filter. This filter filters the water down to 2 ml. As a result, the water is extremely clean and can be optimally disinfected and reused many times, even for years. The filtration system also flushes water through sand filters. Because of this unique situation, it can be proudly said that a Discharge Certificate 0 has been issued by the water board in the Netherlands. This means that all the irrigation water never leaves the nursery and so everything is reused.

What can the WaterWick do for you as a consumer? Because the plant has been grown in a sustainable but effective way, the plant has already received a good "kickstart" which means that plants already have a stronger and healthier root formation. A wonderful way for consumers to experience care convenience. We have indicated below 3 handy steps that will help your plant grow in a healthy and happy way.
Follow these 3 steps

Add water
Take an ornamental pot that is waterproof, fill the bottom of the ornamental pot with water. Note that the cultivation pot should not be in water.
Place the plant
Place the plant in the ornamental pot. The nice thing is if it get stuck in there by itself, like a "tapered" pot. If this is not the case, put stones on the bottom, for example, and the cultivation pot will stay on it and be able to absorb the water.
Care convenience
Enjoy the convenience! The plant will absorb the water/nutrition according to its own needs, taking in only what it needs. In summer, you will need to fill the pot more often.
