The Anthurium Crystallinum is a special anthurium that you don’t often come across. The plants that Karma grows from this also come from its own seedlings and are therefore unique. Care is therefore extremely important because it has relatively few leaves and you can enjoy this beautiful plant for as long as possible. Below are some useful tips that help with caring tips. Don’t forget to take a look at the explanation of ‘watering with WaterWick’. Each plant is equipped with this super deluxe water system!
The best location |
The crystallinum likes a light spot in the room. If you have the KARMA Crystal Hybrid ‘large’ version, it is definitely worth turning it a quarter turn every two weeks. The leaves can become very large and will face the light. For the KARMA Crystal Hybrid ‘compact’ it is slightly less sensitive. This compact variant produces many side leaves, making it less noticeable and therefore necessary. Avoid direct sunlight and also keep them away from drafts and do not place them too close to a warm radiator.
Tip: So take a good look at which Crystallinum you have in order to enjoy it to the fullest.
Watering |
The Crystallinum is a simple and easy houseplant to care for. Watering depends on the time of year, location, but also how big the plant is. If the top soil layer is dry, it will like some water, but if it still feels damp, wait a little longer. The WaterWick system is the solution for not giving too much or too little water!

Spraying |
Spray the plant with water once a month. This helps keep the plant healthy. It is especially important to do this in the winter months with the heating on, because the humidity is often on the low side.
Yellow leaf |
With yellow tips on the leaf, the Crystallinum gets too much sunlight and it is best to move it to a less sunny spot.
Brown leaf |
If your Crystallinum has brown leaf edges, it is getting too much or too little water. Please note, it is better to water a little more often than to give a whole shoot at once.
Repotting |
If your Crystallinum grows out of the nursery pot, you can repot it. Repotting the plant is therefore very important if you want the plant to grow further in height and width. Below we give a few tips that you can best adhere to for a beautiful continued growth of the plant.
- Repot in the spring, this is the most vigorous period and any damaged roots can recover more quickly.
- The new pot should be 20% larger, so not too big or too small.
- Use universal potting soil for houseplants.
- Supplement the plant with some food for a nice kickstart!
